Senator Shibli Faraz, a prominent member of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), has been removed from the travel restriction list after a court ruling on Monday.

The Islamabad High Court addressed the case, where it was revealed that Shibli’s name had remained on the travel ban list despite a previous court order to remove it.

During the hearing, presided over by Justice Tariq Mehmood Jahangiri, Shibli Faraz’s legal counsel, Faisal Chaudhry, appeared before the court, alongside representatives from the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) and passport and immigration authorities.

The FIA clarified that Shibli’s name was not on their PNIL (Provisional National Identification List), but passport and immigration officials confirmed that his name had been removed from the Passport Control List (PCL).

However, the matter of the Exit Control List (ECL), which falls under the Ministry of Interior, remained unresolved.

After a brief recess, Assistant Attorney General Shaista Khalid informed the court that Shibli’s name had been removed from both the ECL and the PCL.

Due to delays caused by road blockages, Ministry of Interior officials were en route to submit an official report, confirming the removal of Shibli’s name from all travel restriction lists.

With the court satisfied that its orders had been fulfilled, the contempt of court application filed by Shibli Faraz was dismissed as non-effective.
