A month ago, Angeline Malik got into a minor car accident due to a vehicular malfunction. Soon after, a video began circulating on social media platforms capturing the actor in the middle of an enraged mob that snatched her phone and ambushed her car on all sides until authorities intervened. In an interview with Frieha Altaf, the Dobara actor recalled the petrifying incident.

"If we don't educate our masses now, we will get to that stage," she said, referring to the possibility of dangerous revolt. "I'm telling you, I was just driving my car, my tire burst. Obviously, I knew by then that I had hit a rickshaw. I opened my car because what I've learnt from my parents is that when you hit someone, get out of your car and help them."

Little did she know at the time how easily her sense of responsibility would backfire in the form of an angry mob gathering all around her. "They did not ask me what happened or if I was okay. They were so concerned about the rickshaw driver, but did anyone tend to him? No, they did not. He was there. No one was bothered by that," she vented.

In the video clip that went viral, Angeline was recorded in a futile attempt to negotiate with her aggressors. As a result, her phone was snatched and she was being pressured into leaving her car, a demand which she did not succumb to.

"Everyone's been calling me up and telling me I'm strong for how I dealt with the situation. But why did I have that confidence and courage? It's because I knew that these were the people of my country and I didn't expect such a thing from them."

Despite personal grievances, the 49-year-old actor expressed that she latched onto the little hope she had in that helpless situation. "I expected them to help me rather than turn against me," she lamented.

"I'm glad that I didn't step out of my car. Because if I did, I don't know what would have happened," she chillingly confessed. "I don't want any woman or man to go through that."
