Sergio Perez has addressed recent rumours about his potential retirement from Formula 1 in the middle of the current season. The Red Bull Racing driver took to social media to put an end to the speculation, sharing a post on X (formerly Twitter) that referenced a famous scene from The Wolf of Wall Street, in which Leonardo DiCaprio’s character declares, "I'm not f***ing leaving!" Perez captioned the post with a simple "Sorry," signalling his intention to stay.

The rumours of Perez’s early exit had gained traction in recent weeks, with fans and media speculating about his future following his remarks during the Singapore Grand Prix. In an interview with DAZN ES, Perez had mentioned he had considered retirement but ultimately decided against it, stating, "I didn’t want to take the easy way out." His latest post now appears to confirm that he is not planning to step away from the sport anytime soon.
Perez remains contracted with Red Bull Racing for the 2025 season, with an option to extend his contract through 2026. His performance has been under scrutiny, but the Mexican driver is still committed to his racing career.
