Several Kansas City Chiefs players wore custom T-shirts in support of star tight end Travis Kelce before their game against the Los Angeles Chargers on Sunday. Wide receiver Rashee Rice provided the shirts to the Chiefs' wide receivers, showing solidarity with Kelce, who has faced criticism for a slow start to the 2024 season. "We all regard Kelce as a leader and mentor," Rice told CBS Sports.

The gesture follows a similar show of support last week when other players wore shirts honoring running back Isiah Pacheco, who was injured in Week 2. Kelce, widely considered one of the best tight ends in NFL history, has struggled in the early part of the season. He had only 69 yards and no touchdowns in the first three games. However, during Sunday’s game, Kelce bounced back with seven catches and 89 yards, helping the Chiefs secure a 17-10 victory over the Chargers.

Kelce's personal life, particularly his relationship with Taylor Swift, has been a focus of media attention. Former ESPN analyst Todd McShay commented on the situation, stating on the Ryen Russillo Podcast, "Are we not allowed to say that he's out of shape? He’s been partying all offseason with the most famous person in the world?" Despite the criticism, McShay expressed confidence in Kelce’s ability to improve. "He’s an unbelievable competitor," he said.

Swift was absent from Sunday’s game, having attended the Chiefs' previous two home games in September.
