ABBOTTABAD:

The Ayub Teaching Hospital Complex, along with Ayub Nursing College, is facing a potential flood threat due to the construction of a culvert on the main KKH road near Gate 5. In this regard, the hospital director has alerted the National Highway Authority (NHA) in a formal letter regarding the issue.

According to the Deputy Director of Maintenance, the ongoing culvert construction may lead to torrential water flow in front of critical hospital buildings, including the Mother and Child Care Hospital, INOR Cancer Hospital, Nursing College and Paramedical School. This poses a significant risk of damage to these facilities. The current drainage system is inadequate to handle the anticipated volume of floodwater, increasing the risk of serious flooding throughout the complex and surrounding areas.

Dr Daud, the Hospital Director, has urged NHA officials to address these concerns before the culvert construction is completed.
