Pakistan’s Asim Khan wins World Tour squash title in US

Pakistan's top squash player, Muhammad Asim Khan, secured his first career World Tour title by triumphing at the Charlottesville Open Squash Championship 2024.

Held in the US state of Virginia, Asim defeated top-seeded English player Nick Wall in an intense 65-minute final.

The match saw Asim lose the first game 12-14 but make a remarkable comeback to win the next three games 12-10, 11-5, and 11-6, clinching the title in a thrilling 3-1 victory. The win brings great pride to Pakistan as it marks Asim’s debut World Tour championship triumph.

The Charlottesville Open, featuring a total prize pool of $28,750, was a significant milestone in Asim Khan’s career.

With this victory, he also gained 500 ranking points, which are expected to boost his global standing.
