Did Beyoncé and Jay-Z really lose 4 million Instagram followers over ties to Diddy?
Rumors circulating on social media claim that Beyoncé lost four million Instagram followers overnight due to her alleged ties to Sean "Diddy" Combs.
The rumors, which went viral on X, suggested that the supposed drop was a result of her and her husband Jay-Z's connection to Diddy's legal troubles and the death of Aaliyah.
However, these claims have been proven false.
According to Social Blade, a website that tracks social media analytics, Beyoncé’s follower count has been gradually declining since March 2024, not overnight as the rumors suggest.
In fact, on September 27, Beyoncé gained 56,151 followers, contrary to reports of a sudden four-million drop.
An X user initially fueled the rumor with a tweet claiming, "Beyoncé has found herself at the center of a big controversy in recent days after a massive loss of followers," linking it to the Diddy scandal.
However, a Community Note on X clarified that Beyoncé's follower count has been steadily at 316 million since August.
Despite not losing followers, her Instagram comment section has been inundated with messages related to her alleged association with Diddy.
The rumors surrounding Jay-Z's follower loss were also debunked.
His follower count has remained consistent at below 900,000, dispelling any connections to Diddy's arrest.
Although Beyoncé's follower count has been gradually declining since early 2024, there is no evidence to support the claim that this is tied to her association with Diddy, who is currently being held without bail on charges of sex trafficking.
