ISLAMABAD:

The Supreme Court of Pakistan has dismissed the review petition of PML-N leader Ali Gohar Baloch seeking recounting of votes in NA-97 Faisalabad.

A two-member bench

of the SC comprising Justice Amin Uddin and Justice Naeem Afghan heard the review petition against the apex court's verdict on Friday.

During the hearing Justice Amin Uddin remarked the SC verdict in its verdict is clear that an application for recounting was not submitted. Justice Naeem Afghan remarked the returning officer told the ECP in a written reply that no application was received for recounting of votes. The apex court had dismissed the petition on August 21 and the petitioner went to the returning officer the next day.

After hearing the arguments, the court dismissed the review petition.
