HYDERABAD:

The transgender community members took off their shirts in a protest against police harassment in Hyderabad.

The transgender persons staged a sit-in outside Phuleli police station, expressing their outrage against the alleged police high-handedness.

The protest was sparked by the arrest of a member of their community Samar Baloch who was taken into custody the previous night and had not been released.

The protesters claimed that police were unjustly harassing them without any reason. While the police maintained that their actions were part of a broader crackdown on elements involved in sale of narcotics.
