Former Prime Minister and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founding chairman, Imran Khan has once again accused Chief Justice Qazi Faez Isa of benefiting from recent constitutional amendments, claiming that the changes are preventing justice from being served.

Speaking to media from Adiala Jail, Imran Khan expressed frustration over the recent developments in the Supreme Court.

He alleged that the amendments are aimed at extending the tenure of what he termed the “Gang of Three.”

Imran Khan also criticised Chief Justice Isa once again, claiming that the amendments are designed to weaken the powers of the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court, ultimately placing the chief justice at the helm of a new constitutional court.

He further accused the government of undermining the judiciary to protect election fraud and ensure PTI does not return to power.

The former prime minister also accused the government of 'pressuring judges' and claimed that the judiciary is being 'destroyed to cover up election rigging.'

Imran Khan also claimed that Chief Justice Isa was facing 'widespread global criticism.'

In his view Justice Qazi Faez Isa failed to address the 'fraudulent elections of February 8' and the 'treatment of PTI’s members, especially wome' who were detained after the May 9 mayhem.

Imran Khan claimed that his party has been restricted from holding rallies and held the Chief Justice responsible for 'not safeguarding fundamental rights.'

The jailed politician called for the immediate appointment of the next Chief Justice, endorsing Justice Mansoor Ali Shah for the role.

Additionally, Imran Khan attempted to draw parallels between the current government and dictator Yahya Khan’s regime.

Imran Khan reiterated his claim without providing any evidence, that the ultimate aim of the constitutional amendments is to 'erode the Chief Justice’s power and position Justice Isa in the constitutional court.'

Imran went on to claim that Chief Justice Isa is 'deliberately blocking justice,' citing the apex court's decision that took PTI’s electoral symbol ahead of this year's elections.
