A fugitive wanted in a fraud and deception case has been arrested in Saudi Arabia, according to a spokesperson for the Federal Investigation Agnecy (FIA).
The FIA's NCBC Interpol carried out a significant operation, apprehending the accused, Muhammad Zubair, and transferring him to Islamabad Airport.
The accused had been wanted by the Faisalabad police for the past three years, with a case registered against him at the Madina Town police station in Faisalabad in 2022.
Charges of deception and fraud were filed against him, and the FIA's NCBC Interpol had issued a red notice for his arrest.
The accused was subsequently handed over to the Faisalabad police by the FIA Immigration in Islamabad. His transfer was made possible due to close coordination between Interpol Islamabad and Interpol Riyadh.
The NCBC Interpol, equipped with modern technology, maintains contact worldwide 24/7 and is utilizing all available resources to apprehend fugitives.
In a major effort to tackle serious crimes, the FIA's National Central Bureau (NCB) Interpol Pakistan has successfully apprehended numerous fugitives from various countries in recent months.
These individuals were wanted for serious offenses such as murder, robbery, kidnapping, and corruption.
Arrests took place in several countries, including the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Oman, and Spain, with additional captures in Malaysia, Kuwait, Bahrain, and Azerbaijan.
Upon their return to Pakistan, the fugitives were handed over to the appropriate police authorities at the airports by FIA Immigration officials.
