Sean "Diddy" Combs will continue to be held at Brooklyn’s Metropolitan Detention Center (MDC) following a failed attempt by his lawyer to move him from the facility.
Marc Agnifilo, Diddy's attorney, has confirmed that no further actions are planned at this stage. This comes after the rapper's legal team had previously requested for him to be moved to Essex County, citing the “horrific” conditions at the MDC.
However, after a court appearance on September 18, the appeal was denied, leaving his legal team with no further options.
In a court document obtained by AllHipHop, Agnifilo stated, “At this point, there is no request from counsel that the court take any action.” The lawyer initially sought to release his client on bail, but that request was denied last week.
Diddy has since been placed on suicide watch, a standard precaution for high-profile detainees. Other famous inmates, such as R. Kelly and Jeffrey Epstein, have also been held at the facility in the past.
Diddy was arrested earlier this month following a federal indictment that accused him of a range of serious charges, including racketeering and sex trafficking. The indictment claims, "For decades, Sean Combs … abused, threatened and coerced women and others around him to fulfill his sexual desires, protect his reputation and conceal his conduct.”
Despite pleading not guilty, Diddy remains in jail as he awaits trial.
