The International Cricket Council (ICC) has launched the official anthem for the Women’s T20 World Cup 2024, titled 'Whatever It Takes.' Sung by the all-girl pop group W.i.S.H and directed by Mikey McCleary, the song aims to capture the spirit of the tournament. Composed by Parth Parekh and produced by Bay Music House, the track has been released on all streaming platforms.

The 1 minute 40 second music video features choreography by W.i.S.H alongside iconic moments from previous Women’s T20 World Cups, showcasing the energy and excitement of the sport. The ninth edition of the tournament will take place in the UAE from October 3 to 20, with 10 teams competing across 23 matches in Dubai and Sharjah.

Speaking about the song, Claire Furlong, ICC’s General Manager of Marketing and Communications, highlighted its significance in inspiring the next generation of female cricketers.

"This soundtrack is not only a prelude of the extraordinary talent that will be displayed on the field of play, but also the vehicle to inspiring a new generation of heroes to women’s cricket’s ever-growing, worldwide fanbase," she said.

The all-girl band W.i.S.H shared their excitement, stating, "We are incredibly proud to share that as an all-girl group, we’ve created the official event song for the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup! Cricket is a powerful force that unites people across our country and around the world, and it’s an honor to contribute to such a special occasion."

Music Director, Mikey McCleary said, “I feel we have captured the vibe and the energy of a T20 cricket world cup in this song and can't wait for cricket fans all over the world to listen to it.”

The Pakistan Women’s Team will compete against Sri Lanka, Australia, New Zealand, and arch-rivals India.

As the Women’s T20 World Cup 2024 approaches, the ICC hopes that the song will further boost the visibility of women’s cricket and galvanize support for the teams.
