Pakistan and Bhutan end in 3-3 draw in U-17 Football Championship
In their second match of the SAFF U-17 Football Championship, Pakistan and Bhutan played to a 3-3 draw on Bhutan's home ground.
Pakistan took an early lead with Khubaib scoring in the 38th minute, followed by a goal from Subhan Karim in the 46th minute, doubling the advantage. However, Bhutan fought back, equalizing the score at 2-2.
In the 67th minute, Pakistan regained the lead with a goal from Abdul Samad, but Bhutan leveled the match again with a late equalizer, denying Pakistan a victory.
Earlier, Pakistan defeated Nepal 1-0 in their first match. Pakistan will face Sri Lanka in their final match on September 25.
In July, Pakistan's street football team clinched their second straight victory in the Norway Cup, overpowering Norwegian club Vardeneset BK with a resounding 5-0 win. The match took place in Oslo on Monday, continuing the team's impressive start in the tournament.
The Green Shirts kicked off their campaign last week with a commanding 6-1 win against Astor Footballklubb. Local media reported the latest victory, stating, "In Norway Cup 2024, Pakistan street child football team has defeated Vardeneset BK 5-0 in their second match of the tournament in Oslo."
Pakistan's street football team has a strong track record, finishing as runners-up in the Street Child World Cup in Qatar in 2022 and Russia in 2018, and securing third place in Brazil in 2014.
The Pakistan street football team is aiming for the title this year after finishing as runners-up in the previous edition of the tournament. Their next match is scheduled against Oystese IL Oystese on July 30, as the tournament runs from July 27 to August 3.
