Quetta attack: Acid hurled at four female teachers

Three of them received burn injuries on their faces, hands and legs.

Four female teachers of a private school were attacked with acid by unidentified culprits in the Killi Alam area of Saryab here on Saturday.


According to local police officer Malik Arshad, the teachers were sitting in a van outside their school in Killi Alam when two men on motorbikes hurled acid on them and fled from the scene.

Three of them received burn injuries on their faces, hands and legs, while the clothes of the fourth teacher were burnt.


The victims were identified as Robina Mushwani, 21, Fazila Bangulzai, 23, Sajida Bibi, 24 and Surriya Langhov, 21. Sajida was discharged after being provided first aid.

“The attackers were wearing masks and disappeared from the scene,” Fazila told doctors at the Bolan Medical College Hospital.

Police have taken the driver of the van into custody for interrogation. According to the victims’ relatives, the girls had not received any threat.

Interior Minister Rehman Malik has directed police officials to take stern action and submit a report in 24 hours.
