Girl gang-raped during highway robbery bid

Four armed men stop family, sexually assault victim in fields

A man was killed and a 17-year-old girl was gang-raped in two separate robbery incidents in the Saddar Police Station area of Pakpattan. The robbers fled after stealing cash, gold jewellry, mobile phones and other valuables.

In the first incident, incident near Chak Rehman, Asif and his family were returning to Bahawalnagar from Pakpattan after attending a funeral. They were stopped by four armed robbers on two motorcycles.

The robbers took the family into nearby fields, where they stole cash, jewellery, and mobile phones. During the robbery, a 17 year-old girl was gang-raped by the suspects. The family, traveling from Bahawalnagar to mourn a death, was stopped by four armed robbers on two motorcycles.

The robbers stole cash, mobile phones and gold jewellery from the family. They then took a 17-year-old girl into nearby fields, where she was assaulted.

The growing frequency of such incidents has left local citizens feeling increasingly insecure. In another incident, Fayyaz, 26, a resident of Jaga Baloch village, was returning home on a motorcycle when he was stopped by three armed men.

The robbers took his cash and mobile phone and shot him when he resisted.
