IU becomes first woman musician to headline Seoul World Cup Stadium

IU captivated 100,000 fans at Seoul World Cup Stadium, marking her 100th solo show with special gestures.

IU wrapped up her historic 2024 world tour in Seoul with an unforgettable finale at the Seoul World Cup Stadium over the weekend. 

The "2024 IU HEREH WORLD TOUR CONCERT ENCORE: THE WINNING" brought together 100,000 fans for a two-day celebration of the singer's 18-city tour, which began in March.

As the first woman musician to headline Seoul World Cup Stadium, IU followed in the footsteps of notable K-pop artists like PSY, G-Dragon, and SEVENTEEN. While her groundbreaking achievement made headlines, it was her attention to detail that left the most lasting impression.

Concertgoers received special care, with IU providing each attendee with cushions and binoculars for a more comfortable experience. Additionally, local residents were sent noise warnings and gift-wrapped trash bags, a gesture that garnered attention even before the event.

Addressing concerns about the venue's turf, IU's agency, EDAM Entertainment, reassured the public that they followed all guidelines to preserve the stadium's grass, stating, "We followed all guidelines for ground use and worked closely with venue officials to protect the turf."

IU's three-hour set covered 24 songs spanning her 16-year career, featuring hits like "Holssi," "Jam Jam," "Bbi Bbi," and "Obliviate." The concert's visual spectacle, complete with drones and fireworks, was a highlight, and IU also debuted a new song, "Bye Summer."

In a heartfelt moment, IU revealed that this concert marked her 100th solo show, expressing gratitude to fans and promising to continue performing. She ended the night with an emotional message, saying, "I hope you all find victory in each day, and may we meet again with smiles."
