The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has allocated a reserved seat in the National Assembly to a PPP leader from Punjab, Samina Khalid Ghurki. The polls oversight authority issued a notification in this regard on Saturday.
Previously, on May 13, the ECP had suspended Ghurki's seat in compliance with a Supreme Court order.
The ECP has yet to make a decision regarding the allocation of reserved seats to the PTI which the apex court on July 12 resurrected as a parliamentary party.
Ghurki served as the federal minister for social welfare and special education from November 2008 until February 2011.
