A top-tier delegation from the International Cricket Council (ICC) visited Gaddafi Stadium to evaluate the preparations for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025.

The purpose of the visit was to examine the stadium's facilities and infrastructure improvements ahead of the highly anticipated tournament.

Officials from the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) gave the delegation a comprehensive overview of the upgrades in progress at the venue.

The ICC representatives toured the stadium, reviewing seating arrangements, media areas, security measures, and accommodations for players.

The delegation comprised ICC Senior Manager of Events Sarah Edgar, Event Manager and Champions Trophy Lead Aun Muhammad Zaidi, General Manager of Cricket Wasim Khan, Security Manager David Musker, and Broadcast Consultant Mansoor Manj.

The visit is part of ICC’s assessment process to ensure that host venues meet the required standards for international events.

The Champions Trophy is set to be held in Pakistan, marking a significant milestone for the country's cricketing calendar.

Earlier on Friday, Mohsin Naqvi, the Chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), assured the ICC delegation of timely completion of stadium upgrades for the 2025 ICC Champions Trophy.

Naqvi confirmed that the renovation work on all venues would be completed before the tournament.

He also emphasised that all participating teams would receive top-tier security, and international-standard facilities would be available for both players and spectators.

The ICC delegation also expressed satisfaction with the preparations in Karachi and Rawalpindi.

The delegation also reviewed security arrangements during the visit.
