North Carolina Lt. Governor Mark Robinson has been linked to an account on Ashley Madison, a dating website designed for married individuals seeking affairs. According to a report by POLITICO, Robinson’s email address was found on the site, which was confirmed by an advisor speaking under anonymity. The discovery comes as Robinson campaigns for the governor’s office against Democratic Attorney General Josh Stein.
Robinson, who has been endorsed by former President Donald Trump, is no stranger to controversy. In a report by CNN, Robinson was also accused of making inflammatory comments on a pornography website, where he allegedly admitted to watching transgender pornography. In response, Robinson released a video denying the allegations, stating, “Let me reassure you, the things that you will see in that story, those are not the words of Mark Robinson.”
He further criticized his opponent, suggesting that the information was leaked by Stein to distract from important campaign issues. “Our opponents are desperate to shift the focus here from the substantive issues and focus on what you are concerned with to salacious tabloid trash,” Robinson remarked in the video.
Despite trailing behind Stein in recent polls, Robinson remains determined in the race, declaring, “We are staying in this race. We are in it to win it.”
