Jimmy Fallon, the host of The Tonight Show, took a moment to express his gratitude as he celebrated his 50th birthday on Sept. 19.

He shared a heartfelt message with fans on X (formerly Twitter), thanking them for their continued support throughout his career.

“Today I am turning 50 years old,” Fallon wrote, alongside a throwback photo of himself as a child, opening gifts while wearing a birthday cone hat. “I just want to say thank you for giving me this great life. I’m very lucky. I appreciate the applause, laughter, and support, whether it be at one of my shows, walking down the street, at a basketball game in France, or even stranded and lost in a Bavarian field.”

Fallon also expressed deep appreciation for his fans’ encouragement. “I feel the love, and I love you back. Thank you for always supporting any new idea I have. You believing in me makes me believe in me.”

In addition to his birthday message, Fallon shared that he made donations to food organizations such as Feeding America, Long Island Cares, and Bridgehampton Food Pantry. He concluded, “I am sending my birthday wish to you all for a great year to come. Thank you,” using the hashtag #FallonIs50.

On the same day, Fallon humorously campaigned for PEOPLE’s “Sexiest TV Hosts” poll, making playful jabs at his fellow nominees Seth Meyers, Mario Lopez, and Mark Consuelos during his Sept. 18 show.
