Khalistani leader's murder plot prompts US court inquiry into India's security chief Ajit Doval

Evidence suggests ties between the Indian government and the plot against Gurpatwant Singh Pannun.

A US court has summoned Indian National Security Advisor Ajit Doval along with former RAW chief Samant Goel, RAW agent Vikram Yadav, and businessman Nikhil Gupta in connection with a conspiracy to murder Sikh leader Gurpatwant Singh Pannun.

The case, which has garnered international attention, is rooted in allegations that the Indian government and its intelligence agency, RAW, were involved in orchestrating the assassination plot.

According to international news agencies, the plot to murder Gurpatwant Singh was uncovered just in time, with links to the Indian government and RAW.

Gurpatwant Singh, has been a vocal advocate for Khalistan and self-determination for Sikhs. The Sikh For Justice (SFJ) group has filed a lawsuit in a US court, alleging Doval's significant role in the scheme.

Gurpatwant Pannun has presented substantial evidence to the court linking RAW to the conspiracy against him. He noted that his advocacy for Khalistan and the push for a global referendum have made him a target.

The conspiracy appears to be aimed at those who champion the right to self-determination, with efforts to silence anyone who condemns the injustices and human rights violations by the Modi government.

Gurpatwant Singh Pannun expressed his commitment to continuing the global Khalistan referendum voting to achieve freedom from India, asserting that he is prepared to face death if that is the price for freedom.

As of now, there has been no response from the Indian government regarding the court's summons.

In May, External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar reiterated that India is investigating the matter, emphasizing that it would not affect the "upward trajectory" of India-US relations.

Similarly, US Ambassador to India, Eric Garcetti, affirmed that this issue would not impact the bilateral ties between the two nations.
