On September 16, hip-hop mogul Sean "Diddy" Combs was arrested by the FBI in Manhattan following a grand jury indictment.

While the exact charges remain undisclosed, U.S. Attorney Damian Williams stated, "Earlier this evening, federal agents arrested Sean Combs, based on a sealed indictment filed by the SDNY. We expect to move to unseal the indictment in the morning and will have more to say at that time."

Diddy’s attorney, Marc Agnifilo, expressed disappointment with the charges, calling the prosecution “unjust.”

He further emphasized that Diddy had been cooperative throughout the investigation, adding, "He voluntarily relocated to New York last week in anticipation of these charges."

Diddy’s arrest has sparked widespread reactions online, with memes and comments comparing him to R. Kelly, the former musician currently serving time for federal sex trafficking charges.

One user posted, “R Kelly waiting,” while others joined in with similar comments, such as “R. Kelly seeing Diddy in the Lunch line,” and "THEY FINALLY GOT HIM."

Other reactions included, “The party is over,” and “Homecoming 2024,” mocking the timing of Diddy’s arrest.

Diddy was taken into federal custody at the Park Hyatt Hotel in Manhattan, where he had been staying for several weeks.

His lawyer described him as a "loving family man" and philanthropist, stating that while he is "an imperfect person," he is "not a criminal."

The charges against Diddy may be connected to the federal raids on his Miami and Los Angeles properties earlier this year.

In March, Homeland Security agents seized firearms and electronic devices during searches of his homes. Reports suggest the raids were related to ongoing investigations into allegations of sex trafficking, sexual assault, and illegal narcotics and firearms.

Diddy has faced multiple lawsuits since November 2023, including one from his ex-girlfriend, Cassie Ventura, and others, such as former collaborator Rodney "Lil Rod" Jones and adult film star Adria English. Diddy has denied all accusations.
