KARACHI:

The Sindh Excise Department has announced the commencement of an online auction for premium number plates as part of a fundraising initiative.

Sindh Senior Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon, while chairing a high-level meeting, revealed that the auction will offer number plates in platinum, gold, and silver categories.

He said, the aim of this auction is to raise funds for the construction of houses for flood victims in the province. The senior minister announced that a special portal would be introduced for premium number plates.

Participants will be able to bid for plates in the platinum, gold, and silver categories. Interested individuals will have the opportunity to acquire premium plates through online bidding within a specified timeframe.

He further stated that a major fundraising event is planned in Karachi on October 12, 2024. The event will feature bidding on premium and personalised number plates.

The meeting also decided that strict action would be taken against officers and employees found negligent in their duties related to combating drugs menace.

The senior minister stated that additional manpower from the police and other resources would be mobilised against narcotics.
