A heated exchange between Shadab Khan and Shaheen Shah Afridi during a Champions One-Day Cup match between the Panthers and the Lions grabbed attention at Faisalabad's Iqbal Stadium yesterday.

The match saw the Panthers, led by Shadab, posting a total of 283 runs in 46.5 overs. In response, the Lions, captained by Shaheen, collapsed for just 199 runs in 35.2 overs, falling short of the target by 84 runs.

The incident occurred during the 29th over of the Lions' innings when Shadab bowled to Shaheen and exchanged sharp words with him.

Shaheen, however, remained calm and did not retaliate. In the following over, Usama Mir dismissed Shaheen for a duck, compounding the tension on the field.

The ace pacer was later quoted as saying that “my parents haven’t brought me up like this.”

Shadab and Shaheen’s altercation occurred at a critical point in the game, with the Lions struggling at 156-6 in their chase of 284 runs. The Lions were ultimately bowled out in 35.2 overs, sealing their defeat.

Shaheen's performance with the ball was disappointing, as he conceded 57 runs in 9.5 overs but managed to take three wickets. Despite his efforts, the Lions suffered their second consecutive defeat, placing them fourth on the points table.

The Dolphins, having played one match and lost, are at the bottom of the standings.
