Bill Cosby is facing new allegations from ten additional women after a judge in Las Vegas allowed their lawsuit to proceed.

The lawsuit follows Nevada’s recent decision to lift the statute of limitations for civil claims by survivors of sexual violence.

US District Judge Gloria Navarro dismissed Cosby’s claims that the new law violated his due process rights. Cosby, 87, also argued that the law unfairly targeted a select group, but this was rejected.

Judge Navarro stated, "SB 129 was not enacted to punish perpetrators of sexual assault, but instead to compensate survivors and foster healing."

Although Nevada law does not have a specific civil claim for sexual assault, the women have accused Cosby of rape and drugging. Their claims for assault, emotional distress, battery, and false imprisonment are not restricted by the new statute.

Cosby, who denies all allegations, was the first major celebrity tried and convicted during the #MeToo era, before his conviction was overturned and he was released from prison in 2021.

Over 60 women have accused Cosby of sexual misconduct, with several filing lawsuits under laws like Nevada’s and New York’s Adult Survivors Act.
