Emily in Paris Season Five Is Officially Happening

On September 16, 2024, Netflix confirmed that Emily in Paris will return for a fifth season. In a teaser video, Lily Collins, who plays the beloved Emily, hinted at what’s to come, saying, “There’s no place like Rome,” as the show is set to continue in Italy.

Will Emily in Paris Become Emily in Rome?

Darren Star, the creator of the show, recently told Glamour, “We’ll see more of Emily in Rome in season five. Emily’s there now, with an office, and the story is leading us to Italy for a bit. But that doesn’t mean we’re saying goodbye to Paris.” So, it looks like we’ll be getting a dose of both Parisian and Italian glamour next season.

Who’s Returning to the Cast?

Of course, there’s no Emily in Paris without Lily Collins as Emily.

Her real-life bond with Ashley Park, who plays Mindy, is also set to continue. Collins recently shared her love for Park on Instagram, calling her a “friendship and sisterhood” she cherishes. Park shared the exciting renewal news on her Instagram Stories, suggesting her return is likely.

We’re also excited to see more of Thalia Besson as Genevieve, a character set up as both a romantic and workplace rival for Emily. According to Star, she’s a character with a surprising backstory that ties into Sylvie and her husband. As for the rest of the cast, Star has hinted that we’ll see more of Alfie but less of Camille in season five—a twist we didn’t see coming!

When Is Season Five Expected to Premiere?

There’s no official release date yet, but we do know that Darren Star auctioned off a role for season five in May, with filming expected to begin in mid-2025. So, we’ll have to wait a bit longer for more of Emily’s Paris (and Rome!) adventures.
