South Africa defeated Pakistan by 10 runs in the first Women’s T20 International at the Multan Cricket Stadium on Monday.
In the match, Pakistan, who won the toss and chose to field first, restricted South Africa to 132/4 in 20 overs. Tazmin Brits anchored the innings with a solid 56 off 63 balls, including five fours, while Chloe Tryon contributed 15 off 7 balls with two sixes.
Pakistan struggled in their chase, managing 122/5 in their 20 overs. They lost early wickets, with Gull Feroza falling to a catch by Chloe Tryon off Marizanne Kapp's delivery in the first over. Muneeba Ali (6), Sidra Amin (4), and Sadaf Shamas (2) also failed to make significant contributions.
Marizanne Kapp took crucial wickets, including Sidra Amin and Nida Dar, who scored 16 runs off 26 balls. Seshnie Naidu also played a key role, dismissing Sadaf Shamas.
Aliya Riaz stood out with a defiant 52 off 39 balls, and Captain Fatima Sana added 37 off 24 balls, but the hosts fell short of securing a win.
