A viral video has captured Shakira abruptly walking off stage during a recent performance after she noticed cameras appearing to film under her dress. The incident occurred while she was performing her new single, "Soltera." According to the footage, the singer paused multiple times to adjust her dress and warned audience members to stop filming from below the stage. Despite attempting to continue the performance, Shakira eventually walked off stage, visibly upset.
Fellow Latin singer Anitta, who was present at the event, was seen checking in on Shakira as she exited. Although the exact circumstances remain unclear, many believe that the elevated stage and Shakira’s short dress made it easier for audience members to unintentionally capture inappropriate angles.
The video, which has gained over 16.3 million views on X (formerly Twitter), sparked widespread discussion. Supporters of the singer condemned the behavior, with one user writing, "Shakira had every right to walk off, no one should have to deal with that kind of disrespect." Others, however, argued that the filming may not have been intentional, stating, "They're just recording her performing... Doesn't mean they were actually trying to film under her dress."
This comes after Shakira recently opened up about her legal troubles with the Spanish government, saying she felt "publicly burned at the stake" over her tax issues.
