There is tension between the police and the students after the flags of different parties were taken down from the boys hostel of University of Sindh.
Sindh Peoples Students Federation (SPSF) President Halar Jamali and other student leaders addressing a press conference at the campus on Sunday said police instead of solving, have exacerbated issues by raiding the hostel.
They said that more than 20,000 male and female students are studying in the university. "We condemn the illegal invasion of the hostel by the police on pretext of political flags," Jamali said.
Jamali, presenting demands of students, said that the security in-charge of the University of Sindh should be removed immediately.
The students demanded free Wi-Fi onn the campus and hostel, transfer of police from hostel, and point buses from the gates of boys and girls hostels to Hyderabad city on a daily basis.
The representatives of students also demanded removal of male staff from Marvi Girls Hostel and appointment female staff at the female dormitory.
They also demanded restoration of basic amenities like TV lounge, study hall and park at the boys and girls hostels. SPSF and other students called for cleanliness at the campus and hostels, water filters, and furniture.
SPSF president warned of protest movement if the demands were not met.
