Secretary General of the Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI-F), Maulana Abdul Ghafoor Haidri, has indicated that the proposed amendments by the government allies might be postponed.

He pointed out that the draft of the bill has not yet been provided to them, suggesting that the process be delayed until they have had the opportunity to review it.

In a media briefing on Sunday, Haidri stated that government representatives have visited them, and they have expressed that while the government is eager to proceed, they have not received the draft or the text of the bill. "How can we vote on a bill that we have not seen or read?" he questioned.

He further explained that the request for postponement is aimed at allowing them and other opposition parties to review the bill thoroughly before making any decisions.

Haidri also mentioned that members of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) had visited them and were informed of their stance. They have urged the government to allow more time for review and deliberation to ensure a well-considered decision.

He noted that since the session had been called and all parties had arrived, they would participate and clearly present their position on the matter, questioning the necessity of the hurried approach.

Haidri concluded by stating that if the government continues with its expedited pace, it might not be in a position to provide informed feedback.
