John Legend praises Taylor Swift for taking political stance and supporting Kamala Harris

Legend spoke on Taylor Swift's courage in politics, his first children's album, and handling online criticism.

John Legend has recently opened up about his admiration for Taylor Swift’s political boldness, reflecting on the risk she took when she voiced her political views publicly. 

He noted, “It was riskier for her to start speaking out about politics than it is for me,” adding that he has “always respected the fact that she was willing to take that risk.”

The EGOT winner, known for his soulful music, has now ventured into children's music with his new album My Favorite Dream. Legend has been singing to his children since they were born, leading him to create music that not only appeals to children but also maintains his musical standards. 

“My goal was to hold myself to the same musical standard that I would for any other album,” he said.

Beyond music, Legend discussed the online trolling he and his wife, Chrissy Teigen, often face. While this used to affect them, he shared, “We became numb to it,” emphasizing that they now focus on their confidence as parents rather than the critiques from the public.

Legend’s latest work sees him balancing multiple roles, from parenting to political advocacy, proving he continues to stay relevant and thoughtful in the ever-evolving entertainment landscape.
