If you purchase an iPhone 16 or iPhone 16 Pro, there’s something you will not find in the packaging: Apple stickers.

In messaging shared with Apple Store teams this week and seen by 9to5Mac, Apple confirmed that the iPhone 16 will not include Apple stickers in the box. Instead, the company says that stickers will only be provided to iPhone 16 buyers upon request.

If you buy an iPhone 16 at an Apple Store, you can request a sticker at the time of purchase, but if not, you’re out of luck. Third-party retailers and carrier partners won’t have Apple stickers to give out, and they’re also unavailable with iPhone 16 purchases made for home delivery.

These changes are part of Apple’s environmental initiatives and ongoing efforts to achieve carbon neutrality by 2030. This year, Apple specifically highlighted that the packaging for the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Pro is entirely made of fiber, moving closer to the goal of eliminating all plastic from packaging by next year.

Although this signifies the end of an era, it’s not unexpected. When Apple Vision Pro was launched in February, buyers quickly noticed the absence of stickers in the box. Additionally, the new iPad Pro and iPad Air, released in May, also don’t include stickers in their packaging.
