The makers of The Boys took a jab at Donald Trump’s recent rallies and his reaction to the debate with Kamala Harris through a clever social media post. On the official Vought International Instagram account, originally created as a marketing tool for the Amazon Prime series, a photo of Homelander at a fictional rally was posted. The caption subtly mimicked Trump’s language, stating, “Contrary to recent ‘reporting’ from the lamestream media, Homelander’s recent rallies have been PACKED with patriots.”
This comes in response to Trump’s unfounded claims during the debate that people were leaving his rallies early due to “exhaustion and boredom,” which was countered by Harris, who invited voters to see for themselves. Trump later accused Harris of paying people to attend her rallies and criticized the media for covering her campaign differently than his own. He stated on Truth Social, “When I have a Rally, and 100,000 people show up, the Fake News doesn’t talk about it... The Fake News is the Enemy of the People!” according to Newsweek
The post from The Boys sparked a wave of humor online, as many fans of the show and critics of Trump quickly associated the satire with the real-life political landscape.
