DJ Akademiks believes Kendrick Lamar took shots at him in new track 'Watch the Party Die'

In a surprising twist in the rap world, Kendrick Lamar has dropped a new untitled track that appears to throw shade at internet personality DJ Akademiks, known for his vocal support of Drake. 

The song, which quickly captured the attention of fans and critics alike, features Lamar delivering sharp, complex lyrics that many believe target Akademiks directly.

Lamar’s verses, "Influencers talk down 'cause I'm not with the basic sh*t," and "The type of man that never d*ck ride 'cause I want a favor," are interpreted as digs at Akademiks, reflecting on the latter's reputed bias during the ongoing feud between Lamar and Drake. 

The tension escalates with lines like, "The radio personality pushing propaganda for salary," and "Let me know when they turn up as a casualty," further fueling speculations about the specific targets of his criticism.

The reaction from DJ Akademiks was swift and palpable. Upon hearing the track, he immediately expressed his shock and dismay on Lamar's Instagram, commenting, "No no noooo." 

The remark underscores his discomfort at finding himself the subject of Lamar’s lyrical jabs. This isn't the first time Lamar has mentioned Akademiks in his music; the previous instance was during the peak of the Drake diss tracks, which included a direct callout in the song "6:16 In LA."

Further elaborating on his thoughts during a Wednesday night stream, Akademiks critiqued Lamar’s strategic approach in the ongoing rivalry, suggesting the rapper was baiting another round of musical exchanges. 

He even took to Twitter to challenge Lamar, encouraging him to "Drop a single. No Round 2s. Just drop em hits," reflecting his view on the feud and Lamar's strategy in the music industry.
