Cricket: Zimbabwe players move up rankings

Bowlers Chris Mpofu and Ray Price have made significant movements up the bowlers’ rankings table.

ABU DHABI: Several Zimbabwe players have enhanced their positions in the International Cricket Council’s Test rankings after impressive individual performances. Bowlers Chris Mpofu and Ray Price have made significant movements up the bowlers’ rankings table. Mpofu has moved up four places to 66th spot while left-arm spinner Price has been rewarded a leap of 31 places, putting him in 70th spot. Sensational batsman Mawoyo is ranked at 64th having moved 59 places up the ladder while former skipper Tatenda Taibu is now 84th, 28 places up the rungs. Test-cricket returning Zimbabwe lost the one-off Test against Pakistan by seven wickets after winning a series against Bangladesh.
