As Kamala Harris sets her sights on becoming the first female President of the United States, her significant wealth has become a talking point.

Harris, who has enjoyed a lucrative career as Vice President for the past four years, is reported to have a net worth of around $8 million.

Her income stems from various roles, including district attorney, attorney general, senator, and now Vice President, where she earns an annual salary of $238,000, according to the Express US.

Harris' husband, Doug Emhoff, is a successful entertainment lawyer based in Los Angeles, bringing in approximately $1 million a year.

Together, the couple boasts a combined net worth of about $13.8 million. However, should Harris win the presidency, she would see a significant raise, with the presidential salary set at $400,000 annually.

Harris announced her intention to "fight and win" the Democratic nomination after President Joe Biden stepped down from the 2024 race, saying, "I will do everything in my power to unite the Democratic Party—and unite our nation—to defeat Donald Trump and his extreme Project 2025 agenda."

In addition to her political career, Harris has further bolstered her fortune through real estate investments, business ventures, and lucrative speaking engagements.

She is also the author of several successful books, including *Smart on Crime*, *The Truths We Hold*, and *Superheroes Are Everywhere*.

While Harris and Emhoff's combined wealth is impressive, it pales in comparison to her opponent, Donald Trump, whose net worth is estimated at $3.8 billion.
