Kamala Harris and Donald Trump participated in their first debate on Tuesday at the National Constitution Center in Philadelphia, with the election less than two months away.
Moderated by ABC anchors David Muir and Linsey Davis, the debate sparked significant online discussions, particularly about Harris' pearl earrings. Some social media users speculated that the earrings were actually earphones used to assist her during the debate.
One user even shared a link to Nova H1 earphones, suggesting they resembled Harris' earrings. However, the only similarity between the two was the pearl design, and no evidence supports the claim that Harris used earphones during the debate.
Several viewers identified the earrings as Tiffany Hardwear Pearl Earrings, which Harris has worn before. Retailing for over $2,000, the earrings are no longer available on Tiffany's website.
Elon Musk’s platform X, formerly known as Twitter, also flagged posts spreading the claim. A community note accompanying the flagged posts clarified that Harris was wearing Tiffany earrings, not an earpiece, with a link to whatkamalawore.com providing further details about the earrings.
This is the second instance in a week where speculation about Harris using earphones has surfaced, following an earlier incident where she was filmed using wired headphones during a phone call.
