Tems questions bizarre pregnancy rumour with rapper Future: 'Why Future? why not Wizkid, Drake?'
During her recent appearance on The Breakfast Club, Tems addressed several personal topics, including bizarre pregnancy rumors involving rapper Future and how she handles public comments about her body.
The “Love Me JeJe” singer spoke candidly about the absurdity of the rumors that surfaced back in September 2023.
"Why am I pregnant [and] why Future? Because that’s the craziest. Why not Wiz[kid]? Why not Drake? Why not somebody else?” she questioned, reflecting on the randomness of the celebrity rumor mill.
The Nigerian singer was falsely accused last year of expecting a child with her “Wait For U” collaborator, Future.
She robustly denied these claims on social media, posting, “In conclusion, you people are all mad!!!” along with a photo of herself to dispel the rumors.
Tems shared her astonishment and distress during an interview with the Nigerian platform, Drive Time Show, revealing the extent of the public reaction.
"I didn’t actually think anybody believed it," she said. "I didn’t know it was serious, I didn’t know until I started getting messages, like death threats. Like, ‘How dare you! Of all the people in the world, Future? Really? Really, of all the people?’ And I’ve never even—I’ve never met him in my life. So, it’s cr*zy."

Aside from addressing rumors, Tems also spoke about the public's fixation on her physique during the interview.
When asked if comments on her shape bothered her, she responded confidently, expressing indifference to the attention. "Not at all," Tems replied.
"I don’t even notice it unless they’re telling me directly like, ‘Oh you’re beautiful’ or ‘You look good.’ I just think people are happy to see me."
She maintained a positive outlook, suggesting that if people appreciate her appearance, it's merely a bonus to the affection they show her.
