LHC fixes PTI plea against ECP probe for hearing

LAHORE:

The Lahore High Court has cleared the way for a petition filed by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) against the Election Commission of Pakistan's (ECP) directive to conduct an inquiry into the party's intra-party elections.

Justice Chaudhry Muhammad Iqbal presided over the hearing on Tuesday and dismissed the objection raised by the Registrar's Office.

The office had earlier remarked that the petitioner could approach the Islamabad High Court (IHC) for relief. However, with the objection now removed, PTI is allowed to proceed with the case in the LHC.
