Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb has said that agriculture and information technology are the backbone of Pakistan's economy and the real levers of economic growth.
He made the remarks during a meeting with the Deputy Director Office of International Affairs, US Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC), Kevin Piccoli, on Tuesday.
They discussed the role of agricultural commodities market and collaboration between the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan and CFTC for the ongoing series of capacity-building training sessions on the development of a commodities futures market, regulation and oversight. It would lead to a well-functioning commodities market in Pakistan.
