The Sindh Building Control Authority (SBCA) has said that it has demolished 872 illegal constructions in different districts of the metropolitan city between March 22 and September 5 in compliance with a court order.
According to the breakdown, most illegal structures, 424 in number, were razed in District Central. Moreover, 157 unauthorised structures were dismantled in District East, 86 in District South, 28 in District Korangi, 23 in District West, six in District Malir, two in District Keamari, four in industrial areas, while 142 illegal constructions were demolished in Hyderabad region.
In District Central, most demolitions took place in Nazimabad, where illegal constructions included fourth-floor RCC roofs, partition walls, and under-construction structures in Paposh Nagar and adjacent areas. Demolitions also targeted properties in Federal B Area, Gulshan Iqbal, and Model Colony, pulling down unauthorised extra floors, shops, and extensions.
In Liaquatabad, under-construction fourth-floor structures were dismantled, while in B Area, illegal third-floor constructions were also razed.
