Ashley Tisdale and Christopher French welcome their second child, a baby girl

The High School Musical star shared the news of her daughter Emerson's arrival on Instagram.

On Saturday, Sept. 7, actress Ashley Tisdale announced via Instagram that she and her husband, Christopher French, have welcomed their second child, a baby girl. 

Tisdale shared that their daughter, Emerson Clover, was born on Friday, Sept. 6.

The "High School Musical" alum posted a black-and-white photo of herself, French, and their 3-year-old daughter, Jupiter, holding the newborn’s hand. 

In the caption, Tisdale wrote, "Emerson Clover French, all three of us are obsessed with you," and noted her daughter’s birth date with, "She landed 9.6.24 🍀."

Back in March, Tisdale announced her pregnancy on Instagram, posting pictures of herself and her family with the caption, "We can’t wait to meet you 💫." 

French humorously commented, "😬 Here we goooo! I love you. We can do this lol.” The couple has been married since 2014, and they welcomed their first child, Jupiter, in March 2021.

Tisdale had previously opened up about her concerns surrounding postpartum depression following the birth of her first child. 

In a TikTok video posted in March, she mentioned the anxiety she felt when thinking about going through it again but reassured her followers that her doctor explained how hormone adjustments tend to happen more quickly with subsequent pregnancies.

In the final weeks of her pregnancy, Tisdale joked about her readiness to give birth, sharing on Instagram Stories, "I've been sick for three weeks... my whole body hurts and I literally can't wait to get that baby out."
