Construction activities for the Diamer Basha Dam are continuing unabated around the clock.

Once completed the towering at 272 metres dam is set to be the highest roller-compacted-concrete (RCC) dam globally

It is strategically positioned across the River Indus, approximately 40 kilometers downstream from Chilas town.

As of now, construction is actively underway at 17 critical sites across the project area, with work proceeding at a commendable pace. The project is slated for completion by 2028.

Once completed, the Diamer Basha Dam will boast a substantial gross water storage capacity of 8.1 million acre-feet (MAF), intended to irrigate 1.23 million acres of farmland.

Additionally, it will generate 4,500 megawatts of power, translating to an impressive annual energy output of 18 billion units.
