KARACHI:

Sindh Senior Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon has said that despite the provision of a free shuttle service to the new bus terminal, some bus operators have filed lawsuits based on what he describes as "false and fabricated claims."

He said, these operators are resisting legal actions or pursuing personal interests in an attempt to exert pressure on government officials.

Sharjeel reiterated that the transfer of bus terminals out of city will proceed as planned, despite ongoing pressures.

He stressed that the relocation of terminals outside Karachi aims to remove illegal bus stands and lessen pressure on city roads while the Sindh Transport Department remains dedicated to upholding the rule of law and adhering to court directives.

The senior minister explained that the establishment of these terminals outside city is in line with court orders. He urged all stakeholders to respect the court orders and cooperate with the government.

Acknowledging the challenges faced by transport operators, Sharjeel said that the Sindh government's commitment to address citizens' concerns is meant not to negatively impact the transport businesses.
