Rumor has it that Michael Cohen, Donald Trump’s former personal attorney, was spotted attempting to get into the exclusive Harper’s Bazaar Icons party at Le Veau d’Or during New York Fashion Week.

However, Cohen insists he was merely trying to make a dinner reservation for another night.

“He tried to sweet talk his way in, thinking they would recognize him,” Page Six reported. “They wouldn’t let him in. After about five minutes he decided to leave looking pretty bummed.”

But Cohen tells Page Six, “Not true.”

“I went there with my son to make a reservation for my daughter’s upcoming birthday and learned at the door that there was a private party and could not speak to the reservation manager,” he said.

When asked why he didn’t just book online, Cohen explained, “I haven’t been there yet and literally live one block away. So walked over.”

Le Veau d’Or recently reopened on the Upper East Side with Chef Lee Hanson and Chef Riad Nasr from Frenchette now running the restaurant after buying it from the Tréboux family.

Established in 1937, the restaurant was a favorite haunt of Orson Welles, James Beard, and Jacqueline Onassis.

Bazaar editor-in-chief Samira Nasr is Riad’s sister.

The Icons party, which was smaller than previous years when it was hosted at the Plaza, featured guests such as Martha Stewart, Natasha Lyonne, and Fran Lebowitz.
