The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has said that it was ensuring uninterrupted, secure access for information technology (IT) exporters, allowing them to stay connected and safe while delivering services internationally.
In a press release on Friday, the regulator stated that internet services across the country were expected to remain slow till early October as the submarine cable disruptions might take some time to repair.
The press release came after a delegation from the Pakistan IT Association (P@SHA) visited the PTA headquarters on Thursday, to explore ways to support the IT companies and software houses, with a view to ensuring a conducive business environment. PTA Chairman Maj-Gen (retd) Hafeezur Rehman assured the delegation that the authority was proactively working on ease-of-doing business for the IT sector and ensuring that the IT exporters stayed connected while delivering internationally, according to the press release.
