Former Hollywood producer Harvey Weinstein is facing potential new criminal charges as a grand jury in New York has been convened to investigate fresh allegations of sexual misconduct. According to court documents obtained by TMZ, Weinstein's lawyer, Arthur Aidala, acknowledged during a Manhattan courthouse hearing on Tuesday that three witnesses had testified in support of new charges. Aidala indicated that the allegations likely relate to incidents that occurred between 2005 and 2006, with one possibly from 2016.

Weinstein was previously convicted in 2020 for sexually assaulting Mimi Haley and Jessica Mann, receiving a sentence of more than 20 years in prison. Although his conviction was overturned on appeal in April, the Manhattan District Attorney’s office has opted to retry the case. Aidala also stated that Weinstein, who suffers from multiple health issues and uses a wheelchair, may consider testifying before the grand jury to assert his innocence.

No further details have been provided by the Manhattan District Attorney's office regarding the case or the identity of the new witnesses. Aidala has requested to separate the original cases involving Haley and Mann from the new indictment.
