The warships, equipped with cutting-edge technology and combat capabilities, were built in collaboration with Türkiye and Romania.

A Navy spokesperson stated that the addition of these vessels is a significant milestone in enhancing Pakistan’s maritime defence, providing the fleet with modern capabilities to secure the nation’s territorial waters.

The induction ceremony was attended by President Asif Ali Zardari, who served as the chief guest, along with high-ranking military officials.

The event drew notable international participation, with Türkiye’s Deputy Minister of National Defence present, highlighting the close cooperation between the two nations.

Senior representatives from Karachi Shipyards, the Chairman of the Joint Chief of Staff Committee, and the Chief of Naval Staff were also in attendance, marking the occasion as a critical step forward for Pakistan’s naval strategy.

PNS Babur and PNS Hunain, designed for a variety of maritime defence operations, are expected to play a pivotal role in securing the country’s maritime interests, especially in light of growing regional security concerns.

Both warships feature advanced weapons systems and technology that will further strengthen Pakistan’s naval deterrence.

The Pakistan Navy continues to focus on modernising its fleet, with these new additions boosting its capability to defend Pakistan’s coastline and trade routes.

The inclusion of the warships is seen as a testament to the ongoing commitment to enhancing national security and regional stability.
