"Because of the cases you’ve made, my wife is in jail," PTI leader says he will take legal action

Former Prime Minister and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder, Imran Khan, threatened a National Accountability Bureau (NAB) investigator during a Toshakhana case hearing, warning of legal action upon his release from custody.

During a court proceeding held at Adiala Jail in Rawalpindi, related to a new Toshakhana reference, Imran approached the NAB investigation officer, Mohsin Haroon, and issued a stern warning, Express News reported.

"Because of the cases you’ve made, my wife is in jail. Once I’m out, I won’t spare you or the NAB chairman," Imran told Mohsin Haroon, adding that he would take them both to court as soon as he is freed.

Pevioulsy, NAB had challenged the decision to grant bail to former prime minister Imran Khan in the £190 million reference case.

The appeal was filed in the Supreme Court by the NAB chairman, arguing that the Islamabad High Court's decision to grant bail ignored key facts. The Islamabad High Court had approved bail for Imran Khan on May 15, setting a bond of RS 1 million.

NAB contended that the High Court's decision was legally flawed and has requested the Supreme Court to nullify it.

Several individuals were present as the PTI leader made the remarks, escalating tensions during the ongoing trial.

This latest confrontation comes as Imran continues to face multiple legal challenges, with his imprisonment and that of his wife, Bushra Bibi, becoming a focal point of his public statements.

Imran Khan has repeatedly criticised the NAB, alleging that the cases against him and his family are politically motivated.

His threat to pursue legal action against NAB officials highlights the deepening divide between the former prime minister and state institutions.
